Krystal
(Lead and background
vocals, Percussion) Krystal,
is our newest member. This Covington
Legacy Music recording artist, among many other musical conquests, has
recently been selected as the opening act for Randy Travis in an
"inspirational evening" at the Castine Center on the North
Shore.
This minute brunette packs a delivery you won't believe. You will wonder
where that big voice comes from! We are proud to welcome
Krystal to the band.

Kerry
(Keyboards, background vocals)
Kerry, Ivy’s New Orleans-born keyboardist,
is one of the group’s original members and a main reason for the band’s
big sound. Classically
trained, he uses the amazingly "real" sounds of his
synthesizers, along with Randy’s saxophone, to duplicate
musical arrangements of all types with amazing accuracy. Kerry has long
been regarded as one of the best keyboardists in New Orleans.

Buddy
(Bass, lead and background vocals)
Buddy, an original member of Ivy, the bassist and
primary lead vocalist for many years, is now one of the band’s five
featured lead vocalists. Born and raised in New Orleans, the band’s only vocal tenor,
he performs songs spanning many years and musical styles, from those
written by Billy Joel to Simply Red and Louisiana’s LeRoux.

|
Cliff (Drums, lead and background vocals)
Ivy’s drummer and one of its many lead
vocalists, Cliff follows in his father’s musical footsteps. Cliff
developed his love for music at an early age, listening countless hours to
his father’s own band, then later playing drums with that very band. His
early interest was in country music, branching out to Dixieland, and then later developing an affinity
for popular music, all the while honing his vocal skills.

equipment manager who has diligently honed his musical skills over the
years and has moved into the position of bassist, lead and background
vocalist, and part-time keyboardist, all helping to add to the versatility
of this musical ensemble. His vocal renditions of Barry White and Ronnie
Millsap tunes are fast becoming crowd favorites.

PAST MEMBERS

|
|
Jessica
(Lead and background vocals,
Percussion)
Jessica has literally grown up with Ivy in her home having music in her
life since birth. Since she started singing at the age of two, it was only
a matter of time before she knew that some day she would sing on the same
stage with her dad (Buddy Gaudet). At the end of 1999 she decided it was
time to begin working in earnest on her musical career with Ivy. She is
well suited to performing the music of pop stars such as Shania Twain,
Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Sade, Fontalla Bass, and many
others, while also adding to the band’s lush background vocals.
|
|
|
Natasha (Percussion, lead and background
vocals)
Natasha hails from Miami, FL, and has recently
been singing in some of the most prestigious hotels in New Orleans.
Possessing a very strong and versatile voice, Natasha is well suited to
performing the music of popular artists such as Gloria Estefan, Bonnie
Raitt, Patti Labelle, Etta James the Dixie Chicks, and many others.

Randy (Saxophones, keyboards, background vocals)
Randy truly is a musician’s
musician, talented in many areas. He is an excellent arranger, largely
contributing to Ivy’s many sophisticated horn arrangements, along with
Kerry Camarata’s assistance on keyboards, while playing the tenor and
alto saxophones. He was also the group’s auxiliary keyboardist, adding
much to the flavor and diversity of the band. And as if that wasn’t
enough, he contributes greatly to the band’s background vocals and
general merry-making with the crowd.

Edwin (Sound Engineer and Vocals)
Eddie has worked
with many New Orleans artists including the likes of Cowboy Mouth,
and has worked for years for the Jazz Fest for countless venues at the
Convention Center. Eddie is an accomplished musician, possessing
talents including drums, vocals, and guitar. As a musician, he has a
good ear for music. Contributing greatly to our overall sound, he is
a great asset. We realize that a band could be the best around, but
without someone qualified at the controls, it is all for nothing, so
Thanks Eddie for bringing out our true sound!

John (Keyboards, background vocals)
John joined us, having recently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
in music theory from Loyola University and is now earning a Master’s
degree in jazz studies at the University of New Orleans. John’s musical
background makes him a great fit for all of the different types of music
that we play. In addition to piano, organ, and strings, he plays horn
parts that blend with our saxophone to yield rich, full horn parts. We are
fortunate to have worked with him.

Larry
(Guitar, lead and background vocals)
A previous Ivy member, Larry is actually the founder of the band. While
attending Loyola and studying under the legendary Paul Guma at the Loyola
School of Music, he was the catalyst for the then fledgling group, which
has now celebrated decades of performing great music in Louisiana and the
Southern United States. Larry is an accomplished guitarist, covering all
of the styles in popular music for the last two decades, as well as
serving as one of the group’s lead vocalists on songs requiring his big
baritone. In Memory

Richard (Drums, lead and background vocals)
Previous member, who was with Ivy from the
very early. Richie's strong soulful voice added to
the band's ability to do artists like J. J. Jackson and Bob Seger, like no
one else can. Part of the band's original rythm section, Richie
helped to make Ivy that band that it is today, and is partly the reason we
are still around.

Jay - (Keyboards,
Guitar, Percussion, Vocals)
Jay, another founding member, and Larry Sarrat
first played together in a pre-Ivy band "The Illusions" during
the Summer of 1966 (The summer between Jay's 8th grade and freshman
year at DeLaSalle).
From 1966 to the late 60's they went through
the usual revolving door of band members and names (The Illusions, Sunday
Morning Angels, The Lear Jette). Larry and Jay brought in Dennis Berner
and IV Worner to fill in vacant band positions - sometime during early
1968. Their band was renamed to IVY during late 68 or early
69. Jay retired in August 1970 when he left to attend LSU.
Jay continued to visit the band at gigs and
sit in from time to time. He remained friends with Larry and Dennis and IV
throughout the years.
Jay is now a practicing paralegal, and like so
many others, is living in Baton Rouge - Thanks to Hurricane Katrina.

Henry (IV) (Drums)
Here's a history
lesson; Henry, known to his friends as IV is one of the founding members
of the band. In fact, he is the namesake. There were
originally four members in the band so the roman numeral IV fit
well. The band was known as I V, but that was seemingly confusing to
some who introduced the band as "Roman Numeral 4", among other
interpretations, so the name became Ivy. The name has stuck for 30
plus years now. Henry (IV) is pictured here at his son's wedding for
which we had the honor of playing. Our thanks go to him for the
opportunity. Thanks to IV for his pioneering efforts in the
band.
